大家还记得那位在《新生儿护理》公益课堂上自告奋勇上台学习抱娃的外国帅气准爸爸吗？戳这个标题《会抱娃会拍嗝的外国准爸爸简直帅呆了！》。虽然语言不通，但在妻子的帮助下，他陪着妻子几乎参加了每一堂公益课、实操小课、夫妻瑜伽课，以及各种孕期活动。每一次上课，他都超级认真，就连他妻子也掩饰不住幸福，直夸他是超级奶爸。宝宝出生后，这位外国爸爸还写了产经，分享他们的孕育经历。前方高能，来自外国爸爸的英文产经分享给大家。

On the 30th of July 2019 we had a beautiful baby girl at New Born Women & Children Hospital.

2019年7月30日，我们漂亮的女儿在新生堂妇产医院出生了。

My wife’s first pregnancy ended with an emergency C-section, and here quite a few years later we worried if she could carry our baby to full term and have a successful natural birth. Our experiences with the regular public hospitals was not very positive and after some searching we found New Born Women & Children Hospital and we have not regretted that for a single moment. Here I share our experiences.

我妻子的第一次怀孕以紧急剖腹产结束，几年后，我们担心她是否能把我们的孩子怀到足月，并顺利自然分娩。而我们在正规公立医院的经历让我们不是很有信心。经过一些调查后，我们找到了新生堂妇产医院，我们没有留下一点点遗憾。在此，把我们的经验分享给大家。

First we were taken care by one of the sales ladies of the hospital. Normally sales people can be a bit of a mixed pleasure to talk with, many will be primarily concerned with making a sale and that’s fair enough, it’s their job. We were happily impressed with the service here though, the sales lady (阳琳）explained everything very clearly and found solutions to our concerns. She also kept contact with us for all 9 months, not too often but just enough to make it pleasant.

首先，医院的主管客服接待了我们。一般的销售人员在介绍过程中可能说好的多一些，他们主要关注的是成交，这也很正常，这是他们的工作。不过，我们对这里的服务印象很好，客服（阳琳）解释得很清楚，对于我们关心的问题，也找到了解决的方法。她还与我们保持了9个月的联系，虽然不是太频繁，但足以让我们感到愉快。

During our long waiting for the baby to grow, the hospital offered many different, fairly priced and some free, classes. These are amazing and will mean so much for any new parents. We went to classes teaching the husband to massage and comfort his wife during birth, a class about breathing exercises to give relief and speed during birth, a class teaching us new parents basic care of a newborn with diaper changes, massages and exercises to teach baby. My wife also went to several yoga classes and we tried out a romantic couples yoga class together.The hospital was also always very efficient about keeping an eye on my wife’s and the unborn baby’s health. We had several checkups and doctors were kind but strict about eating habits and exercises at home.

在我们等待宝宝成长的漫长过程中，医院提供了许多不同的、价格合理的，以及一些免费的课程。这些课程令人惊喜，对任何新手父母都意义重大。我们上了教丈夫在出生时按摩和安慰他妻子的课程，一节呼吸减痛、加速产程的课，还有一节教新手父母给宝宝换尿不湿、抚触等基本护理知识。我妻子也上过几次瑜伽课，我们还一起上了一个浪漫的夫妻瑜伽课。医院也总是非常有效地关注我妻子和未出生宝宝的健康。我们做了几次检查，医生很和蔼，但对家里的饮食习惯和锻炼要求很严格。

We started out being concerned that our baby would be premature, turned out she wasn’t even interested in coming out on time. After 40 weeks and 3 days our doctor decided we could not wait any longer. As soon as that decision was made everything went incredibly fast and smooth. We were checked in to our own lovely private room, and my wife was given the first help to start preparing her contractions; two inflatable silicone balloons to mechanically get it started. 

我们开始担心我们的孩子会早产，结果发现她却对准时出生不感兴趣。40周+3天的时候，我们的主管医生告诉我们不能再等了。一旦做出决定，一切都进展得非常迅速和顺利。我们入院了，住进了隐私性非常好也非常温馨的休养间。我妻子得到的第一个帮助是开始准备迎接宫缩，上了球囊，引发机械的宫缩。

After a nights rest with painkillers, we were led straight to the delivery room and she was given the first dose of medication to slowly kickstart the birth. The procedure went incredibly well and after some hours contractions began and we were taken care of by the professional and kind nurses. Our birth-nurse Swallow was especially a pleasure to have next to us, she would comfort, massage and explain everything happening. She also took care of me the husband with teaching and reminding me how to help my wife and suggesting the right time for me to take a rest. Food was served and all felt well in hand.

在用止痛药休息了一晚后，我们被直接带到产房，给妻子使用了催产素，以缓慢地开始分娩。操作进行得非常顺利，几个小时后开始了宫缩。我们得到了专业和蔼的护士的照顾。我们的导乐燕子和我们在一起非常愉悦。她会安慰我们，给妻子按摩，解释一切发生的事情。她还会照顾到陪产的丈夫，教会我并提醒我如何帮助我的妻子，并建议我休息。食物送来了，大家感觉都非常好。

Some more hours went by and contractions became intense and the birth got started for real. Our birth-doctor(胡妈) came by and kept an eye on us and when it was time, she very calmly and professionally helped my wife to push out our baby. My wife needed a few stitches and that was taken care of. Baby was perfect.

几个小时过去了，宫缩变得剧烈，分娩真正开始了。我们的接生医生（胡妈）过来看了我们。宫口开全以后，她非常镇定、专业地为我的妻子接生，迎接来了我们的宝宝。我妻子需要缝几针。孩子也非常好。

Back to our room we went. The hospital already prepared bathtub, clothes for my wife and baby, diapers, baby wipes and hygienic papers. The room was very comfortable, the food served for us both was great and all the young caretaker nurses were very helpful and considerate. They would keep a keen eye on us all, checking baby’s health and even come in to offer to take care of the baby for a few hours so we could rest a bit after the birth.

之后我们回到了房间。医院已经准备好了给我妻子和孩子穿的衣服、澡盆、尿不湿、婴儿湿巾和卫生纸。房间很舒适，为我们俩提供的月子餐都很好，所有年轻的护理人员都很乐于助人，也很体贴。他们会密切关注我们，检查宝宝的健康状况，甚至会进来照顾宝宝几个小时，这样我们就可以在出生后休息一会儿。

These days we were given an incredibly amount of information and paperwork. Be prepared and keep a cool head. You will be given the opportunity to gene test your baby which is great and something I would personally recommend. It costs a bit of money and pay attention to the 72 hours you have to wait between birth and test, it might not fit with your stay in the hospital. We were generously allowed to stay longer to make it all fit. Also pay attention to the deadline of applying for the birth attest, the hospital office is only open a certain time, certain days. Prepare accordingly. 

这些天我们收获了大量的信息。你需要做好准备，保持头脑冷静。有一项检查是对宝宝进行基因检查，这很好，我个人也会推荐。只不过这需要自费，而且要注意是在出生后72小时才能检查，这就可能超过了你的住院时间。我们被慷慨地允许多呆一段时间以使一切都刚刚好。还要注意办理出生证明的截止日期，医院办公室只在特定的时间开放，做好相应的准备。

I also recommend all parents who decide to breastfeed to study all information you can find beforehand. It is generally agreed by all that breastfeeding is best for the baby and mothers health, but it can be surprisingly challenging and very painful if done wrong and sometimes even if done right.

我还建议所有决定母乳喂养的父母事先学习你能找到的资料。人们普遍认为母乳喂养对婴儿和母亲的健康是最好的。但如果方法不对，或者有时候也做对了，母乳喂养都具有惊人的挑战性，也很痛苦。

I write our experience giving birth in New Born Women & Children Hospital because they deeply impressed me with their modern thinking and service. It was a huge concern for me that most hospitals in China still won’t let the husband join the actual birth. This hospital actually 

encourages it and seems concerned not just with their business but with the actual wellbeing of baby, mother and father. We owe a big thanks to the hospital and it’s staff. We want to especially thank our birth-nurse Swallow(燕思颖).Thank you to you all.

我写我们在新生堂妇产医院的分娩的经历，是因为他们现代的理念和服务给我留下了深刻的印象。
